THE NORTH SHORE HEALTH CARE FOUNDATION, NOW IN ITS 30TH YEAR, IS AN INDEPENDENT NONPROFIT501(C)(3) ORGANIZATION BENEFITING HEALTH CARE, HEALTHY LIVING AND EMERGENCY SERVICES IN COOK COUNTY,MN; THE RURAL NORTHEASTERN- MOST PART OF THE STATE ALONG THE BEAUTIFUL SHORES OF LAKE SUPERIOR THE HEALTH CARE FOUNDATION WAS FORMED IN 1991, AS THE CLINIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE AND INCORPORATED APRIL 6, 1992, LATER AMENDED IN 1993 TO THE NSHCF, BY A DEDICATED GROUP OF RESIDENTS COMMITTED TO IMPROVING THE HEALTH AND WELLNESS OF THE REMOTE COOK COUNTY COMMUNITY OF 5,600 PEOPLE. WE ARE A TRULY UNIQUE ORGANIZATION. THE NORTH SHORE HEALTH CARE FOUNDATION IS WORKING TO REMOVE BARRIERS TO EQUITABLE HEALTH CARE, HEALTHY LIVING AND EXPAND ACCESS TO HEALTH AND EMERGENCY SERVICES. OUR VISION IS 'A HEALTHY COMMUNITY FOR ALL IN COOK COUNTY'. PROVIDE LOCAL ACCESS TO COLLEGE EDUCATION AND VOCATIONAL TRAINING COURSES TO INDIVIDUALS ON THE NORTH SHORE OF LAKE SUPERIOR. COLLEGE PREPARATION, COLLEGE CERTIFICATES AND DEGREES,WORKFORCE TRAINING, AND LIFE-LONG LEARNING.

TO PROVIDE A PROGRAM FOR COOK COUNTY YOUTH WHERE THEY CAN LEARN TO KNOW GOD, BUILD RELILIENCY, DEVELOP HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS AND PLAN FOR THE FUTURE.

The goal of this organization is to build, rehabilitate, manage and/or provide rental housing for low-income individuals and families, older adults and people with disabilities; or which make purchasable housing available to low or moderate income families by offering lower priced housing and/or affordable payment plans, by arranging for interest or mortgage subsidies or by involving eventual owners in the construction process (sweat equity).

MANAGE AND PROVIDE RETIREMENT BENEFITS FOR VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT MEMBERS.

The goal of this organization is to develop, maintain and make available to the general public recreational areas which are equipped with athletic fields and courts, campgrounds, picnic areas and a variety of recreational trails such as bridle trails, hiking trails, off-the-road vehicle trails and snowmobile trails.

ACCEPT CONTRIBUTIONS OF CASH AND PROPERTY, INCLUDING EMERGENCY VEHICLES, TO SUPPORT THE GUNFLINT TRAIL VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT IN PROVIDING EMERGENCY SERVICES FOR THE GUNFLINT TRAIL AREA IN MINNESOTA.

The goal of this organization is to offer new or second-hand furniture, appliances, clothing, toys and other material goods at lower than retail prices, and which often use the proceeds from sales to support other services to the community. Thrift shops accept direct donations from the public of new and reusable goods.
