THE MISSION OF COMMUNITIES IN SCHOOLS OF NORTHWEST MICHIGAN IS TO SURROUND STUDENTS WITH COMMUNITY SUPPORT EMPOWERING THEM TO STAY IN SCHOOL AND ACHIEVE IN LIFE. CIS PROGRAMS PROVIDE BOTH PREVENTATIVE AND INTERVENTION SERVICES INCLUDING ACADEMIC ASSISTANCE, CAREER EXPLORATION, COLLEGE FIELD TRIPS, SERVICE LEARNING, AND ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES.
