THE IGEM FOUNDATION FOSTERS SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH AND EDUCATION THROUGH ORGANIZING AND OPERATING THE IGEM COMPETITION, THE PREMIER STUDENT SYNTHETIC BIOLOGY COMPETITION. IT ALSO FOSTERS SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH AND EDUCATION BY ESTABLISHING AND OPERATING THE REGISTRY OF STANDARD BIOLOGICAL PARTS, A COMMUNITY COLLECTION OF BIOLOGICAL COMPONENTS. THE ORGANIZATION PROMOTES THE ADVANCEMENT OF SCIENCE AND EDUCATION BY DEVELOPING AN OPEN COMMUNITY OF STUDENTS AND PRACTITIONERS IN SCHOOLS, LABORATORIES, RESEARCH INSTITUTES, AND INDUSTRY. THE IGEM COMMUNITY HAS A LONG HISTORY OF INVOLVING STUDENTS AND THE PUBLIC IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE NEW FIELD OF SYNTHETIC BIOLOGY.

CYCLE KID'S MISSION IS TO GET CHILDREN ON BICYCLES AND ENGAGE THEM IN A PHYSICAL ACTIVITY THAT ADDRESSES THE HEALTH AND EMOTIONAL ISSUES FACING TODAY'S UNDER-ACTIVE, OFTEN OVERWEIGHT, CHILDREN.

MISSION:

THE ORGANIZATION HELPS PEOPLE BUILD RELATIONSHIPS ACROSS DIFFERENCES TO ADDRESS THEIR COMMUNITIES' MOST PRESSING CHALLENGES. THIS YEAR, THEIR WORK IN TRAINING, FACILITATION, COACHING, AND ASYNCHRONOUS SUPPORT IMPACTED OVER 500,000 PEOPLE AROUND THE COUNTRY THROUGH EQUIPPING PEOPLE TO HAVE CONVERSATIONS ACROSS DIFFERENCES THAT LEAD TO GREATER BELONGING, MORE SUCCESSFUL DIFFICULT CONVERSATIONS, AND MORE TRUST OF THE "OTHER SIDE."

CAMBRIDGE BOAT CLUB IS A ROWING AND SOCIAL CLUB MAINTAINED AND FUNDED BY ITS MEMBERS FOR THEIR RECREATION, PLEASURE, AND EXERCISE. THE CLUB'S MISSION INCLUDES WORKING TO ADVANCE THE SPORT OF ROWING VIA SUPPORT AND ORGANIZATION OF LOCAL REGATTAS AND PROVISION OF PROGRAMS AND FACILITIES FOR ELITE AND JUNIOR ROWERS, AND PERFORMING COMMUNITY SERVICE VIA OUTREACH PROGRAMS WITH AREA SCHOOLS, SENIORS, CHARITIES, AND ENVIRONMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS.

MASSBIOED'S MISSION IS TO BUILD A SUSTAINABLE LIFE SCIENCES WORKFORCE IN THE REGION THROUGH EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS THAT ENGAGE AND EXCITE TEACHERS, INSPIRE, AND PROPEL STUDENTS, AND ILLUMINATE THE PATHWAY FROM THE CLASSROOM TO CAREERS WITH A FOCUS ON EXPANSION, OPPORTUNITY AND DIVERSITY.
