REPRESENTATION OF PROFESSIONAL STAFF AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MASSACHUSETTS CAMPUSES IN AMHERST AND BOSTON, MA.

The goal of this organization is to provide services for the mutual aid and benefit of their members; that ordinarily have a lodge system whereby activities are carried out under a form of organization that comprises local branches, chartered by a parent organization and largely self-governing, and that make provision for the payment of death benefits, and for benefits in case of accident, sickness, or old age. Y40 should be used only if one of the more specific codes in the Y40 series cannot be determined.

MISSION:

WE SERVE AS THE VOICE AND ADVOCATE FOR THE DISTRICT AND PROMOTE AMHERST DOWNTOWN AS A HIGHLY DESIRABLE PLACE TO WORK, LIVE,EXPERIENCE AND EXPLORE. BEAUTIFICATION AND SEASONAL DECORATION OF THE TOWN, SPECIAL PROJECTS, MARKETING AND EVENTS, ANDOUTREACH AND LIAISON WORK WITH THE TOWN AND BUSINESSES AS WELL AS ACADEMIC INSTITUTIONS AND CULTURAL PARTNERS ARE ALLIMPORTANT ASPECTS OF THE OVERALL FOCUS.

MISSION:

THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING ROOM, BOARD, AND A SUPERVISED ENVIRONMENT FOR SIX TO EIGHT HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS FROM ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED NEIGHBORHOODS WHILE THEY ATTEND AMHERST HIGH SCHOOL

The goal of this organization is to operate associations for male and female students which are chapters of national or international organizations, have secret rites and restricted membership, and may undertake, as a part of their activities, community improvement or charitable projects.

BUILDING AND CREATING CULTURE, BEAUTY AND PROGRAMMING IN DOWNTOWN AMHERST TO ENSURE A THRIVING, BEAUTIFUL AND DIVERSE CULTURAL COLLEGE COMMUNITY.

MISSION:

COLLECTION & DISTRIBUTION OF A WIDE VARIETY OF USED AND NEW BOOKS AND COMPUTERS TO SCHOOLS, LIBRARIES, AND OUTREACH PROGRAMS IN LOW-INCOME COMMUNITIES ACROSS THE UNITED STATES AND IN OTHER COUNTRIES. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO COORDINATES A NUMBER OF INNOVATIVE LITERACY PROGRAMS DESIGNED TO MENTOR AND PROMOTE READING.

THE PARTNERSHIP FOR POLICY INTEGRITY (PFPI) USES SCIENCE, LEGAL ACTION, AND STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS TO PROMOTE SOUND ENERGY POLICY.

THE OBJECT OF THIS CLUB IS TO BE CHARITABLE. SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AWARDED ANNUALLY TO TWO AMHERST REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS FOR SCHOLASTIC APTITUDE, PERSONAL INITIATIVE AND FINANCIAL NEED COMMUNITY SERVICES INCLUDE VOLUNTEERS AT VERTERAN'S HOSPITAL, COOLEY DICKINSON HOSPITAL AND JONES LIBRARY; ALSO CARE FOR THE ELDERLY AND PEROSNS WITH DISABILITY.

PROMOTE THE EDUCATION, TRAINING, RESEARCH AND DISSEMINATION OF INFORMATION REGARDING THE ENVIRONMENT.
