The Nonprofit Ecosystem in Pewee Valley

MISSION:

THE PEWEE VALLEY CEMETERY WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1889 ON APPROXIMATELY 14 ACRES IN PEWEE VALLEY, KENTUCKY. THE EASTERN SECTION WAS ORIGINALLY SEGREGATED AS A THE BLACK CEMETERY, AND ANOTHER SECTION WAS LATER ASSIGNED FOR CONFEDERATE CEMETERY FOR THE VETERANS FROM THE PEWEE VALLEY CONFEDERATE VETERANS HOME. THE PRIMARY CEMETERY HAS BEEN ON THE WEST SIDE OF THESE TWO. A VOLUNTEER, CONTINUES TO OVERSEE THE EASTERN SECTION. THE WESTERN CEMETERY IS MANAGED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS.

MISSION:

TO CONSTRUCT A MEMORIAL PARK WHICH WILL PROVIDE THE STATE, LOCAL COMMUNITY, AND FAMILIES A PLACE TO HONOR AND RECOGNIZE THE SACRIFICES MADE BY OUR MILITARY VETERANS AND TO EDUCATE OUR YOUTH ON THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THOSE SACRIFICES.

THE PURPOSE OF THE ORGANIZATION IS TO DEVELOP A MORE PROFESSIONAL IMAGE FOR DIRECTORS OF ATHLETICS (TO COORDINATE AND UPGRADE COMPETITIVE INTERSCHOLASTIC PROGRAMS); TO DEVELOP CLOSER RELATIONS WITH THE KENTUCKY HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION; TO IMPROVE THE EDUCATIONAL ASPECTS OF INTERSCHOLASTIC ATHLETICS AND A TOTAL EDUCATIONAL PICTURE; TO CREATE BETTER UNITY AND COMMUNICATION AMONG PERSONS OF THE SAME POSITION AND TO INITIATE HIGHER STANDARDS OF PROFESSIONAL PROFICIENCY IN ETHICS.
