The Nonprofit Ecosystem in Priest River

MISSION:

PRIEST RIVER EVENT CENTER WAS ORIGINALLY BUILT BY WILBUR AND CAROLEE MERRITT TO BE AN AFFORDABLE EVENT AND MEETING RESOURCE FOR THE PRIEST RIVER COMMUNITY AND SURROUNDING AREA. THE EVENT CENTER HAS BEEN HOST TO WEDDINGS, FUNERALS, CITY LEADERSHIP, CHAMBER MEETINGS; ALONG WITH VARIOUS COMMUNITY EVENTS SUCH AS CORPORATE PARTIES, AND AREA SCHOOL DANCES. THE MERRITT AND JANHSEN FAMILIES WISH TO CONTINUE THE GENERAL OPERATION OF THE EVENT CENTER AS A NON PROFIT WITH THE SAME OUTREACH AND RESOURCE FOR THE COMMUNITY AS IT HAS IN THE PAST. BECOMING A NON-PROFIT WILL ALLOW FOR OTHER MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY TO DONATE TO THE EVENT CENTER; FURTHER INSURING IT REMAINS A VALUABLE AND AFFORDABLE RESOURCE FOR THE COMMUNITY.

TO FACILITATE THE DIVERSIFICATION OF EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES IN THE PRIEST RIVER AREA AND PROVIDE PROPERLY ZONED COMMERCIAL PROPERTY AT REASONABLE COSTS SUPPORTING BUSINESS GROWTH DEVELOPMENT AND FUTURE JOB OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE TO THE COMMUNITY.

USE ELECTRONIC OR PRINT MEDIA AND TEACH SEMINARS AND CONDUCT TRAINING EVENTS TO EQUIP PEOPLE WITH THE KNOWLEDGE OF SALVATION FOUND ONLY IN JESUS CHRIST

HELP LOST, ABANDONED, OR INJURED ANIMALS TO RECIEVE NEEDED CARE AND HOPEFULLY TO FIND NEW HOMES. PROVIDE A SAFE PLACE FOR PEOPLE TO SURRENDER UNWANTED PETS.
