ASSISTANCE TO DISABLED ADULTS TO AID IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF LIVING AND WORKING SKILLS

THE ORGANIZATION'S PURPOSE IS TO PROVIDE LOW COST HOUSING AND ASSISTED LIVING UNITS TO QUALIFYING INDIVIDUALS. THERE ARE CURRRENTLY 16 ASSISTED LIVING LOW COST HOUSING UNITS AVAILABLE FOR THOSE INDIVIDUALS WHO NEED HELP WITH EVERYDAY TASKS. THE REMAINING 44 UNITS ARE LOW COST.

THE WAUKON ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (WEDC) IS A NON-PROFIT CORPORATION ORGANIZED TO INITIATE AND SUPPORT DEVELOPMENT EFFORTS THAT WILL SERVE TO IMPROVE AND FURTHER DEVELOP THE ECONOMY OF WAUKON, IOWA. WEDC WILL FOCUS ITS EFFORTS ON ACTIVITIES THAT SERVE TO CREATE NEW EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES AND ACT AS A CATALYST TO SPEARHEAD COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS.
