MISSION:

THE FOUNDATION WAS STRUCTURED TO ENCOURAGE FUNDING OF THE JEWISH FEDERATION OF GREATER DES MOINES, AND IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ADDING FINANCIAL STABILITY BY BROADENING THE FUNDING BASE AND THEREBY IMPROVING THE ABILITY OF THE DES MOINES JEWISH COMMUNITY TO RESPOND TO CURRENT AND FUTURE SERVICE NEEDS WHICH CANNOT BE MET THROUGH ANNUAL OPERATING FUNDS.

MISSION:

THE MISSION OF THE JEWISH FEDERATION OF GREATER DES MOINES IS TO FURTHER THE CONTINUITY AND WELFARE OF THE DES MOINES, AMES, AND OTHER CENTRAL IOWA JEWISH COMMUNITIES, AND TO ENABLE THESE JEWISH COMMUNITIES TO MAXIMIZE THEIR RESOURCES BY FACILITATING THE COORDINATION OF THE PHILANTHROPIC, EDUCATIONAL, AND CULTURAL ACTIVITES OF THE CONGREGATIONS, FEDERATION PILLARS, DONORS AND VOLUNTEERS; AND TO SUPPORT FINANCIALLY THE REQUISITE PROGRAMS TO FULFILL ITS RESPONSIBILITY TO ISRAEL AND WORLD JEWRY.

WE DO THAT BY PROVIDING FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO AGENCIES AND PROJECTS THAT MAKE AN IMPACT ON THE WAUKEE AREA AND FOCUS ON THE KEYS TO GOOD LIVING. OUR AREAS OF FOCUS INCLUDE: COMMUNITY GATHERING PLACES, HEALTHY LIVING, PUBLIC ART, PARKS & RECREATION, ALL-INCLUSIVE AREAS, TRAILS, AND SOCIAL SERVICES. WE ARE AN ENTIRELY VOLUNTEER RUN ORGANIZATION, WITH LOW NON-PROGRAM SERVICE EXPENSE NEEDS. DONATIONS TO THE WAUKEE BETTERMENT FOUNDATION HAVE A SUBSTANTIAL AND LASTING IMPACT TO THE COMMUNITY.

SUPPORTS THE WAUKEE COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT ATHLETIC PROGRAMS BY PROVIDING ASSISTANCE FOR THE PURCHASE OF UNIFORMS, EQUIPMENT, SUPPLIES, FACILITY ENHANCEMENTS, AND CONCESSION STAND EXPENSES.

The goal of this organization is to operate organizations whose members are graduates of a particular educational institution who provide support for the institution in the form of financial contributions, student recruitment efforts, promotional activities, fund-raising events and continued ties with the academic program.

The goal of this organization is to produce music not specifically covered by another category including marching bands, jazz groups, chamber music groups, blues, country music, ethnic music (e.g., Brazilian, Celtic, Afro-pop, etc.), folk music, rhythm and blues.

The goal of this organization are the organizations whose members are business and professional men and/or women or other individuals who have a common interest in improving the life of the community, which conduct fund-raising events to finance community service projects. Many service clubs are chapters of national or international organizations.
