TO PROVIDE QUALITY PROGRAMS, FACILITIES, AND OPPORTUNITIES THAT ENABLE PACKS, TROOPS, CREWS, AND POSTS TO DELIVER THE FULL RANGE OF SCOUTING EXPERIENCES TO EVERY REGISTERED MEMBER. THE MISSION OF THE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA IS TO PREPARE YOUNG PEOPLE TO MAKE ETHICAL CHOICES OVER THEIR LIFETIME BY INSTILLING IN THEM THE VALUES OF THE SCOUT OATH AND LAW.

PROVIDE SUPPORT TO JUNIOR ROTC PROGRAMS AT LOCAL HIGH SCHOOLS, PROVIDE DONATIONS FOR DRILL TEAMS COMPETITION, SCHOLASTIC AND LEADERSHIP AWARDS, SEND THREE BOYS AND THREE GIRLS TO STATE EACH YEAR, RAISE MONEY FOR FAMILIES IN DISTRESS, CONTRIBUTE VOLUNTEER HOURS TO FACILITIES SUCH AS THE LOCAL VETERANS HOSPITAL AND THE GEORGIA WAR VETERANS HOME, ORGANIZE HIS FUNDRAISING EVENTS TO HELP DISABLED OR DISADVANTAGED CHILDREN, PROVIDES FOOD AND SUPPLIES TO FAMILIES IN NEED FOR THANKSGIVING AND CHRISTMAS.

THE JOSEPH R. POND MEMORIAL FOUNDATION, INC. WAS CREATED BY FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF THE LATE JOSPEH R. POND. THE ORGANIZATION'S PRIMARY PURPOSE IS THE PRODUCTION OF A BARBEQUE AND BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL TO BE HELD EACH MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND IN THE CSRA.
