MISSION:

PARTNERS FOR BETTER FUTURES (PBF) HELPS IMPROVE THE LIVES OF POOR PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD, PRIMARILY FOCUSING ON CHILDREN AND EDUCATION. PBF DOES THIS BY PARTNERING WITH LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS THAT ARE DEEPLY INVOLVED IN THEIR OWN COMMUNITIES, AND PARTICIPATING IN CAREFULLY EVALUATED PROJECTS AND PROGRAMS. THERE ARE THREE PROGRAMS WITHIN PBF: BUILD A SCHOOL IN BURMA (BSB), BUILD A SCHOOL IN INDIA (BSI), AND APC SCHOOL - PHILIPPINES (APC). PRIOR TO THE PBF'S FOUNDING THESE PROGRAMS HAD EACH OPERATED FOR SEVERAL YEARS THROUGH "FISCAL SPONSORS." IN 2018 THESE OPERATIONS JOINED TOGETHER IN A SHARED PURPOSE, TO HELP PRODUCE BETTER FUTURES FOR UNDER-SERVED PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD.

Because of their endowments, they are focused primarily on grantmaking and generally do not actively raise funds or seek public financial support. These are the most common type of private foundation. They are generally endowed, usually from a single individual or family. Private foundations are considered family foundations if relatives or the original donor are still active on the board of trustees or in the operation of the foundation.

LOS ALTOS CHINESE SCHOOL CHILDRENS CENTER OFFERS A YEAR-ROUND, FULL-DAY, BILINGUAL PROGRAM FOR PRESCHOOL STUDENTS (3 TO 5 YEARS OLD) IN THE LOS ALTOS AREA.

PRESCHOOL EDUCATION AT UNIVERSITY OAKS PRESCHOOL. WE BELIEVE IN WHAT WE HAVE LEARNED, OBSERVED, UNDESTOOD AND PERCEIVE

The goal of this organization is to provide opportunities for people to learn and become competitive in baseball or softball. Coaching, access to a baseball field, baseball equipment, uniforms, and managers and umpires for games are generally included.

The goal of this organization are the organizations whose members are business and professional men and/or women or other individuals who have a common interest in improving the life of the community, which conduct fund-raising events to finance community service projects. Many service clubs are chapters of national or international organizations.

THE SPECIFIC PURPOSES OF THIS ORGANIZATION INCLUDE PROVIDING FUNDING TO BENEFIT WAH YAN COLLEGE OF HONG KONG AND ITS CURRENT OR PAST STUDENTS THROUGH SCHOLARSHIPS TO ATTEND ANY COLLEGES OR UNIVERSITIES IN THE UNITED STATES AS WELL AS EDUCATION AND/OR HEALTH CARE ASSISTANCE TO CURRENT OR PAST TEACHERS, STAFFS, AND JESUIT PRIESTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE SCHOOL. THIS ORGANIZATION IS ORGANIZED AND OPERATED EXCLUSIVELY FOR CHARTIABLE PURPOSES WITHIN THE MEANING OF SECTION 501(C)(3) OF THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE.

The goal of this organization is to operate organizations that provide educational programs within the formal educational system or offered as an adjunct to the traditional school curriculum which help students succeed in school and prepare for life. Includes organizations that partner parents, families, schools, business and/or community leaders to broker resources for the benefit of local schools.

TO IDENTIFY AND ANALYZE ISSUES OF INTEREST AND CONCERN TO LOS ALTOS/LOS ALTOS HILLS AND THE BUSINESS COMMUNITY, RECOMMEND TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS ADVOCACY POSITIONS ON THOSE ISSUES THAT THE COMMITTEE DEEMS APPROPRIATE, AND COMMUNICATE THE CHAMBER'S VIEWPOINT CLEARLY AND STRONGLY TO OUR MEMBERSHIP, ELECTED OFFICIALS, AND THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE.

TRANSPARENT FISH FUND IS A 501(C)(3) US NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION FOUNDED IN 2011 IN PALO ALTO, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHED EXCLUSIVELY FOR CHARITABLE PURPOSES TO CONNECT CREDIBLE CHINESE AND EAST ASIAN GRASSROOTS NGOS WITH INDIVIDUALS FROM THE WEST. THE GREATER MISSION BEHIND THIS WORK IS TO FOSTER A SUSTAINABLE LONG-TERM NGO CULTURE IN EAST ASIA, AND IN DOING SO, SPREAD A GLOBAL SPIRIT OF PHILANTHROPY.

LOS ALTOS AQUATIC CLUB IS A SWIMMING MEMBER CLUB PROVIDING YEAR AROUND TRAINING AND COMPETITION FOR OVER 200 YOUTH AND 50 ADULTS. THE PROGRAM INCLUDES COACHING, POOL TIME AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR THOSE 5 AND UP.
