THE HERO WORKSHOP'S PROGRAMS AND FUNCTIONS HELP ITS PARTICIPANTS DEVELOP MANY SOFT SKILLS AND SOCIAL SKILLS, SUCH AS THE ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE COMPLEX AND CREATIVE IDEAS TO A GROUP, AND TO LEARN HOW TO BUILD CONSENSUS AND MAKE GROUP DECISIONS. THE PROGRAMS ALSO HELP TO IMPROVE ACADEMIC SKILLS, SUCH AS MATH, ALGEBRA, STATISTICAL ANALYSIS, CREATIVE PROGRAM SOLVING, READING, WRITING AND STORYTELLING.

WE RUN 3 MAIN LOCATIONS 2-3 TIMES A WEEK WITH PREPARED OR DONATED HOT MEALS, HYGIENE PRODUCTS, TARPS, AND WARM WEATHER CLOTHING DURING WINTER. WE FEED APPROX 200+ UNHOUSED INDIVIDUALS WHICH INCLUDES UNHOUSED FAMILIES. WITH SMALL CHILDREN. WE HAVE A DEDICATED TEAM OF OVER 50 WEEKLY VOLUNTEERS.

GLOBALGIRL MEDIA (GGM) DEVELOPS THE VOICE & MEDIA LITERACY OF TEENAGE GIRLS AND YOUNG WOMEN, AGES 14-22, IN UNDER-SERVED COMMUNITIES BY TEACHING THEM TO CREATE & SHARE DIGITAL JOURNALISM DESIGNED TO IMPROVE SCHOLASTIC ACHIEVEMENT, IGNITE COMMUNITY ACTIVISM & SPARK SOCIAL CHANGE.
