THE VISION FOR DESERT SENITA COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER STATES: YOUR CENTER FOR HEALING AND WELLNESS. ITS MISSION IS QUALITY, LOCAL, AFFORDABLE HEALTHCARE FOR ALL. DESERT SENITA COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER IS THE SOLE PROVIDER OF PRIMARY HEALTH, DENTAL, BEHAVIORAL HEALTH, AND PHARMACY SERVICES IN THE ENTIRE RURAL, FRONTIER AJO PRIMARY CARE AREA, A GEOGRAPHICALLY-ISOLATED AREA ROUGHLY 2/3 THE SIZE OF THE STATE OF CONNECTICUT AND SURROUNDED ON ALL SIDES BY FEDERAL LANDS, WITH A POPULATION OF APPROXIMATELY 4,000 RESIDENTS. DESERT SENITA CURRENTLY PROVIDES SERVICES TO ABOUT 75% OF LOCAL RESIDENTS, AND TYPICALLY RECORDS OVER 12,000 PATIENT VISITS A YEAR. THE DESERT SENITA ORGANIZATION HAS EVOLVED FROM A HOSPITAL AND OUTPATIENT FACILITY WHICH WAS RUN BY A LARGE MINING COMPANY UNTIL IT CEASED LOCAL OPERATIONS IN 1986. FOLLOWING THE MINE CLOSURE, THE HOSPITAL CLOSED AND THE OUTPATIENT TREATMENT FACILITY RELOCATED TO THE MINE'S FORMER SINGLE MEN'S DORMITORY, IN A MORE CENTRAL AREA OF THE AJO COMMUNITY

AMBULANCE COMPANY SERVING THE RURAL COMMUNITIES OF AJO, WHY, LUKEVILLE, AND THE WESTERN PORTION OF THONO OODHAM NATION

MISSION:

AT THE INTERNATIONAL SONORAN DESERT ALLIANCE, WE DESIGN AND IMPLEMENT ENVIRONMENTAL, CULTURAL, REAL ESTATE AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS INTENDED TO PRESERVE AND ENRICH THE ENVIRONMENT, CULTURE AND ECONOMY OF THE SONORAN DESERT. WE ARE COMMITTED TO FOSTERING COMMUNICATION, UNDERSTANDING AND COOPERATION AMONG THE DIVERSE CULTURES RESIDING IN THE AREA.

MISSION:

SONORAN DESERT CONFERENCE CENTER PROVIDES MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY WITH A PLACE TO GATHER FOR GROUP ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES, HISTORICAL EVENTS, PUBLIC GATHERINGS, COMMUNITY CELEBRATIONS, AND OTHER ACTIVITIES OF NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS, LOCAL BUSINESSES, AND INDIVIDUALS. THE CENTER ALSO PROVIDES LODGING TO VISITORS OF THE AJO, ARIZONA REGION AND LOCAL RESIDENTS.

MISSION:

The goal of this organization are the organizations whose members are business and professional men and/or women or other individuals who have a common interest in improving the life of the community, which conduct fund-raising events to finance community service projects. Many service clubs are chapters of national or international organizations.

The goal of this organization is to are responsible for the control and extinction of fires; and the inspection of buildings, hillside property and industrial plants to ensure compliance with fire codes.

OUR MISSION IS TO SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT OF A SUSTAINABLE AND JUST LOCAL FOOD SYSTEM IN AJO, ARIZONA AND THE TOHONO O'ODHAM NATION LONGER. WE ARE A NATIVE AMERICAN GOVERNED 501(C)3 NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION THAT PROVIDES AGRICULTURAL EDUCATION, REDUCES BARRIERS TO HEALTHY AND CULTURALLY- APPROPRIATE FOODS, PRESERVES AND REVITALIZES AGRICULTURAL TRADITIONS, FOSTERS LOCAL, FOOD-BASED ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND ESTABLISHES VALUABLE PARTNERSHIPS.
