Private foundations are considered family foundations if relatives or the original donor are still active on the board of trustees or in the operation of the foundation.

MISSION:

THE PURPOSE OF THIS ORGANIZATION SHALL BE: 1. TO MAINTAIN AN ASSOCIATION OF PERSONS INTERESTED IN PROMOTING THE BERRYVILLE LIBRARY AS A VIABLE AND VALUABLE INSTITUION IN THE COMMUNITY; 2. TO SUPPORT AND COOPERATE WITH BERRYVILLE LIBRARY STAFF IN DEVELOPING LIBRARY SERVICES AND FACILITIES FOR THE COMMUNITY; 3. TO FOCUS PUBLIC ATTENTION ON LIBRARY SERVICES, FACILITIES, AND NEEDS, AND TO STIMULATE GIFTS OF MATERIALS AND FUNDS; AND 4. TO WORK TOWARD INCREASING A LONG-TERM FINANCIAL BASE FOR THE BERRYVILLE LIBRARY'S FUTURE NEEDS.
