PROVIDE HANDS-ON, SHORT-TERM TRAINING TO INDIVIDUALS SEEKING TO ENTER INTO THE RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY.

MISSION:

THE HUNTSVILLE-MADISON COUNTY LIBRARY FOUNDATION (HMCLF) WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1986 TO ASSIST IN FUNDRAISING FOR A NEW DOWNTOWN LIBRARY TO SERVE HUNTSVILLE AND MADISON COUNTY. SINCE THAT TIME, THE HMCLF HAS GROWN IN BOTH SCOPE AND BOARD MEMBER SIZE. THE HMCLF'S PRIMARY ROLE TODAY IS TO RAISE AWARENESS AND FUNDING FOR THE HUNTSVILLE-MADISON COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY (HMCPL), CURRENTLY CONSISTING OF 10 LOCATIONS; 4 WITHIN THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, AND 6 OTHERS ACROSS MADISON COUNTY: TRIANA PUBLIC LIBRARY, MADISON PUBLIC LIBRARY, MONROVIA PUBLIC LIBRARY, TILLMAN D. HILL PUBLIC LIBRARY, GURLEY PUBLIC LIBRARY, AND ELIZABETH CARPENTER PUBLIC LIBRARY (CURRENTLY UNDER RENOVATIONS) OF NEW HOPE. THE HMCPL'S MISSION STATEMENT IS: THIS IS THE PUBLIC'S LIBRARY. MISSION:

TO ENCOURAGE AND PROMOTE THE STUDY AND PRACTICE OF ASTRONOMY AND CONTRIBUTE TO SCIENTIFIC OBSERVATIONS

The goal of this organization is to provide support services to patients and their families. Programs can include social and recreational activities for people who are recovering from surgery or a serious illnesses; supportive services for children who are ill and for their families which enable family members to remain with a child who is hospitalized; family and sibling support groups, and programs which attempt to make a gravely or terminally ill child’s final days, weeks and months more pleasant. CLASS WEATHER INSTRUMENTATION IN SUPPORT OF PUBLIC SAFETY, EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH, AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT. THE AREA OF THE TENNESSEE VALLEY AND STATE OF ALABAMA HAS ALL THE NATURAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR SUBSTANTIAL STUDY INTO TRANSPORTATION WEATHER AND RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT BUT DOES NOT CURRENTLY HAVE ACCESS TO WORLD CLASS INSTRUMENTATION. THE INSTITUTE IS DEDICATED TO ORGANIZING CURRENTLY AVAILABLE INSTRUMENTATION IN REAL TIME AS WELL AS DEVELOPING REAL TIME WEATHER NETWORKS ON LAND, NAVIGABLE WATERWAYS AND OTHER. THE INSTITUTE IS DEDICATED TO EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH AND WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR A HANDS-ON EXHIBIT WHICH ALLOWS CITIZENS AND SCIENTISTS TO UNDERSTAND HOW INSTRUMENTATION ASSISTS IN "KNOWING THE WEATHER". THE INSTITUTE WILL CONTRIBUTE DATA AND RESEARCH INTO THE ONGOING STATEWIDE EFFORT TO ENHANCE PUBLIC SAFETY.

PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES TO UGANDAN PRIMARY ND SECONDARY SCHOOLS TO INCLUDE READING BOOKS, DICTIONARIES, SUPPLEMENTAL TEXT BOOKS, ENCYCLOPEDIA, AND TEACHER RESOURCES. PROVIDE SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDENTS AND TEACHERS. DESIGN AND CONSTRUCT SCHOOLS. TRAIN UGANDAN TEACHERS IN LITERACY SKILLS.

The goal of this organization is to build, rehabilitate, manage and/or provide rental housing for low-income individuals and families, older adults and people with disabilities; or which make purchasable housing available to low or moderate income families by offering lower priced housing and/or affordable payment plans, by arranging for interest or mortgage subsidies or by involving eventual owners in the construction process (sweat equity).
