THE PURPOSE OF THE STARR COUNTY INDUSTRIAL FOUNDATION IS TO FURTHER DEVELOP AND DIVERSIFY THE LOCAL ECONOMY THROUGH SOUND CONTROLLED ECONOMIC GROWTH. OVER THE YEARS THE CORPORATION HAS DEVELOPED A CORE COMPETENCY IN A VARIED SPECTRUM OF ADMINISTRATIVE AND PROMOTION ROLES WHICH HAS PLACED IT IN A POSITION TO CAPITALIZE INDUSTRIAL AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN THE STARR COUNTY REGION.

TO SUPPORT THE STUDENT MEMBERS OF THE TEXAS LAW REVIEW OF THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS SCHOOL OF LAW. THE PARTICIPATION OF THE MEMBERS THROUGH ATTENDANCE AT THE BANQUET AND CORRESPONDENCE WITH THE STUDENTS DURING THE YEAR GIVES THE STUDENTS IMPORTANT CONTACTS WITH PROMINENT MEMBERS OF THEIR FUTURE PROFESSION. THE FINANCIAL SUPPORT PROVIDED TO THE STUDENTS BY THE ORGANIZATION IS INSTRUMENTAL IN PROVIDING THE FUNDS NECESSARY FOR MANY OF THE STUDENTS TO COMPLETE THEIR EDUCATION.

TO AWARD SCHOLARSHIPS TO ELIGIBLE STUDENTS WITH ACCOUNTS IN TX'S 529 PREPAID TUITION PLAN FOR USE IN PURCHASING ADDITIONAL TUITION UNITS OR ACCRUING MATCHING FUNDS AS ALLOWED BY STATE LAW. STUDENTS WILL HAVE TO MEET ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS RELATED TO NEED AND ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE.
