FRIENDS OF CHILMARK TENNIS (FACT) IS A COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATION WHOSE PURPOSE IS TO SUPPORT AND FURTHER DEVELOP THE CHILMARK TENNIS PROGRAM. THE GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF FACT ARE TO PROMOTE ADULT AND YOUTH TENNIS IN CHILMARK AND UP-ISLAND, TO DEVELOP ATHLETIC AND HEALTH-ORIENTED SKILLS, ENCOURAGE TEAMWORK, SPORTS ETIQUETTE, AND GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP AND MOST OF ALL, TO HAVE FUN. THE ORGANIZATION SHALL SPONSOR YOUTH INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAMS (GENERATING SCHOLARSHIPS BASED ON NEED) AND CREATE MENTORSHIP PROGRAMS FOR YOUNG ADULTS.

MISSION:

TO PROMOTE AND TO DEVELOP SPORTSMANSHIP AND ATHLETIC POTENTIAL OF THE CHILDREN OF HUDSON IN GRADES 5-8 IN THE SPORT OF BASKETBALL. THIS WILL BE ACHIEVED BY HOLDING WEEKLY PRACTICES, CLINICS, REGULAR SEASON GAMES WITHIN CENTRAL MASSACHUSETTS YOUTH BASKETBALL (CMYBL), VARIOUS TOURNAMENTS AND SUMMER LEAGUE BASKETBALL. TO ALSO ASSIST THE TOWN OF HUDSON RECREATION DEPARTMENT WITH THEIR GRADES 1- 4 BASKETBALL PROGRAM AND UNIFIED LEAGUE (CHILDREN AND YOUNG ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES).
