MISSION:

THE HARWICH MARINERS ARE AN ORIGINAL MEMBER OF THE CAPE COD BASEBALL LEAGUE, CONSIDERED BY MANY TO BE THE NATION'S PREMIER SUMMER COLLEGIATE BASEBALL LEAGUE. THE MARINERS PLAY THEIR HOME GAMES AT WHITEHOUSE FIELD IN HARWICH CENTER, MA. THE HARWICH MARINERS INVEST HEAVILY IN ACTIVELY RECRUITING AND TRAINING TOP PLAYERS, AND HAVE HOSTED ELITE COLLEGIATE ATHLETES FROM THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES AND CANADA, INCLUDING SEVERAL MAJOR LEAGUE PLAYERS. THE HARWICH MARINERS, LIKE OTHER SUMMER COLLEGE BASEBALL TEAMS, ARE DEDICATED AND DESIGNED TO PROVIDE MINOR LEAGUE-STYLE COMPETITION FOR NCAA PLAYERS THAT WISH TO CONTINUE ON INTO PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL AND ROUTINELY SEND PLAYERS TO THE MLB DRAFTS. THE HARWICH MARINERS OPERATE IN THE MODEL OF AN INDEPENDENT MINOR LEAGUE TEAM: RECRUITING ATHLETES, PLAYING NIGHTLY BEFORE FANS IN STADIUMS WHICH SEAT THOUSANDS, USING WOOD BATS AND MINOR LEAGUE SPECIFICATION EQUIPMENT, AND EXPERIENCING ROAD TRIPS BETWEEN GAMES. PROVIDE COMPETITIVE ROWING PROGRAM FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN HARVARD, ACTON & BOXBOROUGH, MA. ALSO PROVIDE RECREATIONAL ROWING TRAINING FOR RESIDENTS IN THE COMMUNITY.

MISSION:

The goal of this organization is to provide opportunities for people of all ages to learn, become competitive in and enjoy the organized recreational activity, sport or game of their choice. These programs may be offered by local clubs devoted to a particular activity or sport; may provide individual or team coaching assistance or instruction, access to equipment and facilities, and uniforms, if necessary; and may sponsor or make arrangements for athletes to participate in amateur competitions, usually at the local or regional level, and provide officials for games. These events are generally for the enjoyment of the athletes and are not at a high enough competitive level to be considered spectator sports.
